Mission & Vision

Purpose
The SRAIG exists to promote a continuing relationship between students and alumni of student radio by providing opportunities for alumni nationwide to give time, money and resources to ensure the continued privilege of independently student operated radio at Penn State.

Mission
The SRAIG’s mission is tri-fold: to stimulate the continued interest in the student radio experience at Penn State among alumni, to provide a means whereby alumni and friends of student radio may join together for personal and professional enrichment and to strategically support and advocate for student operated radio throughout the Penn State family.

The SRAIG seeks to accomplish its mission through a variety of methods:

• Provide support to Penn State student radio, its advisors, students and alumni.
• Stimulate the continued interest in the Penn State radio station experience among all its graduates.
• The AIG will keep alumni linked to each other through regional events and reunions.
• Promote enhanced communication and provide a formal system for networking among alumni, faculty, and students.
• Develop an alumni directory that will facilitate career development, networking, job placement and job recruitment.
• Provide and enhance student’s internship opportunities.
• Encourage the contribution of funds for a station facility endowment and for scholarships.
• Honor and award students, alumni and faculty for outstanding achievements.
